Well, I would not say a researcher's work is ever truly done, but my main goal is to ensure that anyone who wishes to obtain or remove a crest can do so at will and without great personal risk. Their role in Fodlan's society ensures that people--particularly the nobility--will do frankly despicable things to ensure that their families have a crest to their name, and despite their desirability, some crests are not particularly pleasant to live with.
