WEEK TWO
SECOND WEEK
A new day dawns bright as you leave the town behind you; the map you've found is simple, easy to follow, and perhaps most importantly it's the only lead you have.
And besides, it takes you closer to the source of the Shimmer's influence; that alone may make it worthwhile.
The through the woods leading up the mountain is one that seems to have been taken before, though it's difficult to tell how long ago; the long grass seems to have been tamed in some ways, tamped down and trod upon, and the presence of odd flowers remains constant. They seem to obey no season, growing out among the grass and the trees high overhead.
Though it's worth noting that you don't seem to be alone here; occasionally there's a silence that sweeps over the area, the sort of dead quiet that accompanied your initial approach to the Shimmer. The sort of silence that implies a predator in the area.
Checking will reveal exactly that.
It seems as though something has been stalking you - cougars from the woods have come down toward the group, and while they keep their distance for now, that may not hold true for the rest of the week...
You hear things in the night.
It sounds like humans screaming.
SUNDAY | MONDAY |
TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY
[OOC: Welcome to the second week of The Shimmer! Unlike the deer and the other wildlife you've seen so far, the cougars that are tracking you are hostile - you are free to interact with them in any way you see fit, but they will react as a cougar would and they are entirely willing to try to attack the group. While we will not be NPCing these encounters, you are welcome to do as you like with regards to their presence, including fighting them off.]

[Let him get his jacket off at least to expose it; it's not like it's anything terrible, just one of those superficial things that nonetheless bleeds a lot, just to give you shit.]
It doesn't seem too bad, I've seen worse.
no subject
So have I. At least it doesn't look like it went too deep, so once I get this all disinfected and patch it up, it should be healed in short order!
[Just let her open up the kit and get to work on that--]
But please be careful with it, even so! Who knows what could happen, especially here!
[will felicia ever stop fretting, signs point to no]
no subject
[Go ahead and do this, then, just because if he doesn't let you you'll probably do things with your face at him.
...While he's standing around with not much better to do- ]
...Did you call me Zolf? Earlier.
no subject
[She absolutely would, honestly. Anyway, Felicia's just gonna hum a bit while she works on this, disinfect the hell out of it, and then get a bandage--
Only to stop at the question, looking back and tilting her head.]
...Yes? That's your name, isn't it?
[???]
no subject
[Just saying.]
no subject
[It's more curiously stated than anything, admittedly, while she finishes getting him patched up. Maybe a little bit confused because like...]
Huh. That seems a little silly when Zolf is so easy to remember! So they just...call you by your full name then? Or your last?
[...]
Do they just call you J? That'd be even easier, but...
[she's trailing off and staring into space while she thinks about the logistics of this, please stop her dear gods]
no subject
[girl are you okay- ]
If you want to call me something else, though, you knock yourself out. As long as I know you're yelling at me I don't really care.
no subject
W-well--I still really shouldn't have assumed! That was kind of silly of me to do so in the first place, ahahaha...!
[With that out of the way and her finished patching him up, though, she'll just give him his newly patched arm back.]
--There! That's all taken care of, but let me know if anything starts to happen with it!
[She's just trying to smoothly recover here, it's fine. She feels silly as hell but it's fine!!]
