THE TOWN SQUARE.

[Page silently watches the church burn for a little while, once she's emerged safely from it, before turning away and heading to the town square to meet up with everyone else. It makes sense to rest here, as they did last week, after another town with another tragic story to tell.

At least that time, however, they'd all survived it unscathed.

Once she's made it over to the group, she drops her pack onto the ground and collapses next to it, staring at her feet. It's going to take a bit to...process all of that, and while she'd love to get up in front of everyone and make some kind of rousing speech, she just doesn't have it in her at the moment.

Instead, she'll look up from the stone of the square, eventually, casting her eye over everyone and saying (almost to herself)-]

...I hope everyone is all right.

[That is likely far from true, but...well. They're all alive, Wesker is dead, and that's something. She's trying her best not to look at that little tree-sculpture with the key around its neck.

[It's funny, Grace had just been thinking of all the questions she wanted to ask if they found a survivor alive in the Shimmer, but now that she has one standing in front of her, she suddenly doesn't find it appropriate to grill him about his time here.]

What are you going to do now?

[Krauser glances over at Grace before returning his attention back to the fire.]

Nothing left for me to do here. I'm leaving the Shimmer.

[Her gaze flicks down to his arm and back up to his face.]

Is it that easy? You have somewhere to go, someone who can help you?

[Oops, looks like she's playing 20 questions with him after all.]

[armamenta]

[Okay, that gets him to turn his attention back to her and he just sort of stares.]

Why are you asking?

[The question's a little too blunt, a little too surprised, but it's just so weird after everything else today has been. His boss shot your boyfriend????? What does he do with this.]

I guess I'm just curious. They told us that hardly anyone who enters the Shimmer returns, and you've been here for so long. I mean, no offense, but you barely look human anymore.

[What if he like... can't breathe non-Shimmer air anymore??]

Maybe I just want some reassurance that there's a future for us if... when we make it out.

I was capable of doing this [lifts that blade arm] before entering the Shimmer. The Shimmer just made it so I can't undo the transformation.

[And okay, sure, the Shimmer's definitely done some other stuff to him; his Resident Evil Boss Transformation wasn't actually this gross initially!! It was still gross, but what do you expect of a Resident Evil boss.]

I can't guarantee that I'll be just fine leaving the Shimmer. I might not be. But if you want my advice - kill the Shimmer quickly. I don't know how long I've been in here, but you all should be able to find the source and get the hell out before it gets as bad as it did for us.

[Though admittedly Wesker was a bit of a... unique case...........]

[Now her gaze is drifting to the burning church. She knew going in that their ultimate goal was to neutralize the Shimmer. She agreed to it. Now though, she's tired and sick of seeing things burn.]

It's going to put up a fight, if the way he talked about sharing a common goal with it was any indication.

...It spent a lot of time pretending to be him. Maybe it thought it was.

[His attention returns to the flames and he's quiet for a long moment.]

That thing wasn't Wesker anymore. It hadn't been for a long time. I don't know what the Shimmer's going to throw at you all the closer you get to it. Things have... changed since we first entered - the Shimmer itself seems more aggressive.

[Another slight pause, and then he shrugs.]

Or maybe I'm just paranoid. Regardless, watch your backs.
