CAVERN.
[Another encounter with the Shimmer, another round of confusion, frustration and exhaustion. It's probably going to be a fairly unanimous opinion, but Page much preferred the circle of peaceful corpses over the tree of suffering.
She emerged from the river just in time to hear what the Shimmer had to say, and it leaves a bad taste in her mouth. But regardless of feelings, it's probably wise that they don't move away from this cavern for the time being; the fire, remnants of that horrible tree, is providing light and warmth. They couldn't really ask for much more, especially after spending the past week in darkness.
So Page will swim back to the fire, placing herself in front of it and unwinding her headpiece, letting her locs fall free around her face. She's soaked, miserable and cold. As awful as the source of the heat is, she needs to dry off. The last thing she wants is to fall ill.
Not that it would mean much - sounds like a problem for her body. Wherever that is.
You're free to join her, or do what you will; time to rest, before the new week begins.]

Yes, and no? I feel like I'm almost getting used to it, at this point. Even after being pretty close to that tree.
[She's not sure what that says about her, or just. This entire situation, really.]
It's not hard to think of this objectively, and know what we have to do. But the Shimmer sure does find new and interesting ways to make a mess of things...
[To. Put it very lightly.]
What about you? Are you doing okay?
no subject
...Yeah. Yeah, I'm doing fine.
[Convincing!]
Those scratches all healed up okay, so I think I'm doing all right.

Well, I am glad to hear that they've healed up nicely. Just be sure to be careful, especially when we exit this place! These rocks can be a little unforgiving...
[source: fell on face, got scrapes, they're at least healed]
...Are you sure you're alright, though? I won't pry if you don't want me to, but...you don't seem it.
no subject
It gets him to hesitate for a moment, though.]
...I'm okay, yeah. Might ask you for a favor, though, I don't know.

[She'll let it go, then. She at least trusts Kimbley to know when to seek help. ...Hopefully.]
If you do, then know it's no trouble at all! I'll be glad to help.

[Mnngh.]
Do you still have that laser. Thing. For the veins and stuff.
no subject
Yes, I do! I've been keeping it safe with my supplies! Did you want to check it out?

[Felicia just straight up beams after saying that! She's definitely excited to be of some help and...honestly, to show off the cool machine because it's so cool.]
Honestly, I'm glad we haven't had to use it for anything serious--we've been good at avoiding severe injuries like that, at least.

[For...science, or something.]

Of course! Honestly, I don't mind doing it once you've finished up with your hair, but any time is fine.
[...]
...Honestly, watching you work has started to make my scalp itch, and I'm honestly tempted to do the same at this point...
[It's lightly said, don't worry.]
