[Another encounter with the Shimmer, another round of confusion, frustration and exhaustion. It's probably going to be a fairly unanimous opinion, but Page much preferred the circle of peaceful corpses over the tree of suffering.

She emerged from the river just in time to hear what the Shimmer had to say, and it leaves a bad taste in her mouth. But regardless of feelings, it's probably wise that they don't move away from this cavern for the time being; the fire, remnants of that horrible tree, is providing light and warmth. They couldn't really ask for much more, especially after spending the past week in darkness.

So Page will swim back to the fire, placing herself in front of it and unwinding her headpiece, letting her locs fall free around her face. She's soaked, miserable and cold. As awful as the source of the heat is, she needs to dry off. The last thing she wants is to fall ill.

Not that it would mean much - sounds like a problem for her body. Wherever that is.

[The Shimmer knows we're here, after all, and we haven't seen a cougar in forever. Though if we get mine cougars he's going to be real disappointed that he didn't get to fight them.]

There are plenty of others who will pick up my slack, ja? You don't have to worry so much.

Whatever it said - it's got nothing to do with us. It's better we understand that now.

Today's certainly made it clear that it won't stop, and it doesn't care to realize how much of a threat it is. We need to find a way to kill it.

[He actually sounds serious, for once.]

[ That seriousness is matched. His short moment of straying from the idea of destroying the Shimmer has only made his resolve to do so stronger now - he is fueled by spite alongside a healthy fear for the life of himself and others. ]

It'd be easy if fire could take care of it yet again, but given it came from space, I can't imagine that it was originally quite this plant-based...

I wouldn't rule it out entirely. Fire has worked very well on everything we've run into so far, so who knows. Explosives could certainly be useful as well, and I know Kimbley's been making quite a few of those.

That seems likely enough, huh? Well, at least his enthusiasm is countered by his expertise - I'd hate for our stash to accidentally set the group itself on fire.

That's true. I was initially hesitant to use the Napalm at all due to how dangerous it is, but she's really come through in figuring out how to work with it.

She is an exceptionally reliable individual! Honestly, I don't know what we'd do without her.

Setting ourselves on fire? No, I certainly hope not. I assume we would have a lot more injuries to deal with though. She's also been helping fight the cougars, hasn't she?

Though she doesn't seem to realize just how helpful she's being.

I'd hope we wouldn't be that incompetent, yes...

But that doesn't really surprise me. She's the sort to downplay her own accomplishments, ja? We'll just have to make sure she knows how much we appreciate all she's done for us!
