Visions.
LANDSCAPES.
The further in you go, the thicker the calcification becomes.
The crystals on the walls are difficult to make out now, having been encased entirely by thick white growths encompassing the walls like spider veins, like roots; their energy, however, can still be felt if you wander too close to the walls, or if you spend too long recovering yourself after something sufficiently stressful has come into your line of view. This may be more for a problem for some of you than it is for others; some of you are holding up surprisingly well, all things considered.
It isn't a failing on your part, when it hits you.
It's hard to say precisely what "it" is - a sudden fatigue, a seizure, an abrupt swirling of the world beneath your feet; all you know is that you're here, and then you aren't anywhere, and it takes a moment to place what brought the feeling on, or even what the feeling itself is. It will come to you eventually, however, once your eyes refocus and the cavern comes into view again for you properly - it feels like that first week you were here. Like reawakening after a long stint asleep; like being disoriented after realizing that you're not where you should be.
The difference this time is that you are, for all intents and purposes, still where you should be.
You don't seem to have gone anywhere; it doesn't feel like you've lost that much time, even, if you've lost any at all. But the fact of the matter is that something feels different, and it feels wrong, and placing how proves to be difficult.
There's a bend in the path, and suddenly it becomes all too clear.
You aren't supposed to be here, are you?
This place can be anything and everything - the hallway in the upper floor of your house, the bar you frequent, that place where all your comrades are buried. What matters is that it's somewhere you weren't sure you would see again, but the fact of it is that you're seeing it here, and you're seeing it now, and perhaps some of the others with you are seeing it too. Perhaps there are others here, those that have been on your mind for the past few days; perhaps you're all alone outside of whomever is questionably fortunate enough to be experiencing this with you.
Whatever you're seeing, however, something remains present in your mind, driving you onward and encouraging you to move through this, and quickly.
You don't belong here.
You need to leave.
[OOC: Welcome to the first half of our week 5 event! For this portion of the event, the hallucinations you've experienced up until now have become far more thoroughly immersive, and can be seen or experienced by others in something akin to a shared dream-state. These visions are likely to delict something from your world that you would find familiar and would have some sort of attachment to, whether that attachment is positive or negative. Monsters or other people from your world can be present here and interacted with, to deal with as you see fit; fighting them or speaking to them are both fair game. Conversely, your personal experience may be exploring or revisiting an area of your world that may or may not be how you remember it...
Please note that the mods will not be NPCing any characters in your visions or answering questions specific to the environments that you create. However, you are free to create as you see fit; time and space have very little meaning here, and your only limitations to your character's personal illusion/dreamscapes are your own creativity. Feel free to post any prompts you may want to play with, and to tag out to others to experience whatever they want to show you. (However, it is worth noting that any physical items you find in the visions will not remain in their possession afterwards.) As always, if you have any more questions about how works, let us know!]

Unfortunately, you're not too far away to see what's going on.
Yeager's drawn the beast's attention and it looks like it's charging up for some sort of attack. Yeager's shots are hitting it, but it doesn't actually seem to be slowed or really in any pain at all despite the horrid noises it's making.
A sudden long, dark spike shoots out from it, slicing forward far too quickly for Yeager to react. It pierces through him just below the shoulder - it isn't anywhere immediately vital, but that definitely looks like it hurts. You're too far away to make out exactly what it is he says in response, but it doesn't stop him from continuing to fire.
It continues to charge whatever attack it's gearing up for.]

Felicia's stomach drops when she watches Yeager get hit, and that's what sees her running back towards him as fast as she can--she can't let this happen to him. She won't. She won't, but she needs to find a way to stop this from happening or at least to save Yeager or get him on the boat with her.
She doesn't know if she can make it in time--she doesn't care what happens to her, either. But she won't let him die, she won't--]
Yeager!!
[Felicia isn't sure if she can make it, but she's going to make an attempt to grab his arm and try to drag him away if she can.]
no subject
Felicia—
[His expression quickly hardens, though.]
I told you to go! I'm not losing you to this too!
[Not again, never again, not when there's a chance this time—
But it isn't as though there's much time left, is there?
A second of those dark spikes shoots out, aiming for Felicia this time. She's too far for Yeager to get to, not when he's pinned like this, and his shot aimed at the tendril flies wide, missing it.]
No!
no subject
Have you considered that I don't want to lose you either?! I won't leave you behind, I won't--
[But Felicia notices the attack too late, and suddenly there's a going through one of her arms and stopping her in her tracks, making her cry out in pain--]
Augh!
[But she's not giving up. She's not sure if she can pull herself free from this, but she has to try--]
C--Come on! If we work quickly, we can still--we can still get out of here--!
[She's not sure how confident she is in that.]
no subject
[The words are rushed, almost breathless, and then he's shaking his head and changing topic just as quickly.]
It destroyed everyone last time, there isn't any way to stop it.
[...There wasn't any way to stop it last time.]
Wait. Maybe... Ja. I think there's one more option. See if you can cut yourself free.
[The spike is pretty thick, so it isn't as though it'll be easy going. Yeager's meanwhile working on undoing his cravat - it looks like he's got some sort of idea, and barely any time to execute it given how the beast is glowing.]
no subject
But those words make her blood run cold. There's no way to stop it? So...what could they do? Are they just supposed to--
No. Felicia won't let that happen. Felicia works with her shuriken to try and get herself free, which is definitely going to be a process, but she's going to work as hard as she can with her shuriken, it might be a bit, cutting and cutting and cutting until--]
T-There! I did it!
[What exactly are you going to do, Yeager?]
no subject
[The words are oddly blank, and he finally manages to get the cravat open and his shirt open. There's something on the center of his chest - a red gemstone with a golden apparatus around it, snaking up toward his neck. The gemstone glows brightly.]
Go. Now!
[He fires off another two shots and it feels like some powerful magic is on the verge of being activated.]
no subject
...]
Okay--but you had better be okay when this is over! Don't you dare die!
[And with that plea, Felicia flees toward the boat this time without stopping. She just hopes she can trust him.]

There's a loud sound, almost similar to an explosion, followed once again by silence.
You have enough time to turn back and look behind you - you'll see that the desert is flattened in a way it wasn't before, an indent almost like a crater where you were standing not all that long ago. There's no sign of Yeager.
Unfortunately, the monster is still very much present and moving toward you, and three spikes are coming your way.]
no subject
Felicia stays frozen in place, the horror overcoming her. She should've pulled him in, she should have done something, she could have done anything and all she did was get him killed--
So to say the least, she doesn't run again when the spikes come her way, and needless to say...they hit their mark, all three spikes impaling her.
It won't be long before Felicia joins him.]
Sorry...Yeager...

The world goes white. The vision ends.]
