Visions.
LANDSCAPES.
The further in you go, the thicker the calcification becomes.
The crystals on the walls are difficult to make out now, having been encased entirely by thick white growths encompassing the walls like spider veins, like roots; their energy, however, can still be felt if you wander too close to the walls, or if you spend too long recovering yourself after something sufficiently stressful has come into your line of view. This may be more for a problem for some of you than it is for others; some of you are holding up surprisingly well, all things considered.
It isn't a failing on your part, when it hits you.
It's hard to say precisely what "it" is - a sudden fatigue, a seizure, an abrupt swirling of the world beneath your feet; all you know is that you're here, and then you aren't anywhere, and it takes a moment to place what brought the feeling on, or even what the feeling itself is. It will come to you eventually, however, once your eyes refocus and the cavern comes into view again for you properly - it feels like that first week you were here. Like reawakening after a long stint asleep; like being disoriented after realizing that you're not where you should be.
The difference this time is that you are, for all intents and purposes, still where you should be.
You don't seem to have gone anywhere; it doesn't feel like you've lost that much time, even, if you've lost any at all. But the fact of the matter is that something feels different, and it feels wrong, and placing how proves to be difficult.
There's a bend in the path, and suddenly it becomes all too clear.
You aren't supposed to be here, are you?
This place can be anything and everything - the hallway in the upper floor of your house, the bar you frequent, that place where all your comrades are buried. What matters is that it's somewhere you weren't sure you would see again, but the fact of it is that you're seeing it here, and you're seeing it now, and perhaps some of the others with you are seeing it too. Perhaps there are others here, those that have been on your mind for the past few days; perhaps you're all alone outside of whomever is questionably fortunate enough to be experiencing this with you.
Whatever you're seeing, however, something remains present in your mind, driving you onward and encouraging you to move through this, and quickly.
You don't belong here.
You need to leave.
[OOC: Welcome to the first half of our week 5 event! For this portion of the event, the hallucinations you've experienced up until now have become far more thoroughly immersive, and can be seen or experienced by others in something akin to a shared dream-state. These visions are likely to delict something from your world that you would find familiar and would have some sort of attachment to, whether that attachment is positive or negative. Monsters or other people from your world can be present here and interacted with, to deal with as you see fit; fighting them or speaking to them are both fair game. Conversely, your personal experience may be exploring or revisiting an area of your world that may or may not be how you remember it...
Please note that the mods will not be NPCing any characters in your visions or answering questions specific to the environments that you create. However, you are free to create as you see fit; time and space have very little meaning here, and your only limitations to your character's personal illusion/dreamscapes are your own creativity. Feel free to post any prompts you may want to play with, and to tag out to others to experience whatever they want to show you. (However, it is worth noting that any physical items you find in the visions will not remain in their possession afterwards.) As always, if you have any more questions about how works, let us know!]

[That's... not exactly wrong, he supposes. It's close enough to work without reading as too weird, probably??]
Can you tell me about those bad guys?
no subject
You should probably get outta here. There's gonna be a battle here soon.
[If this is a traveler, then he shouldn't be here, right? Right.]
The villagers are gonna protect us from the bad guys. [...] I don't know if they're really that bad, though. They can't be any worse than the Nohr soldiers.
no subject
It sounds like the Nohr soldiers have caused all sorts of problems here... I would like to help protect the town, if I can. Do you know where the villagers have gathered?
no subject
[The boy will point over to the left--it's a pretty big ass house, so you're unlikely to miss it.]
I don't know how they'll react to an outsider. But it's worth a try. You're gonna wanna talk to Flora; she's taking care of us.
Good luck!
no subject
[Flora, huh... And they're wary of outsiders. Well, this isn't going to be great, and he has a sneaking suspicion he knows where this is going. He's not going to stop now, anyway.
So! Onward to the Chieftain's house! How are things looking over here? He's going to try to get a glimpse into the windows if he can.]
no subject
Though their hair colors are different, the girl's similarity to Felicia is likely pretty obvious. Her posture is far more rigid, and from what little you can tell, she's definitely speaking with some sort of authority. Though the second the other maids have their eyes off of her, she honestly looks...well, ill at ease.
Care to try your hand at knocking?]
no subject
It's possible knocking won't end well, but he's willing to take a risk. His weapon is staying in briefcase form because he doesn't want to give them the wrong idea, but he can probably defend himself from a shuriken or two. So yes, he'll knock on the door and wait for a response!]
no subject
Flora opens the door a crack, taking a moment to peer out and...well, looks utterly confused for a moment and thrown, at that. She's never seen this unusual man before, and he doesn't...look like he's with Corrin's army, but...]
Ah...hello. Can I help you, sir?
[It's clear just from talking to her that she's more rigidly poised and polite than Felicia; her tone is far more guarded, and even from what little you can see, her posture is very closed off as well. But she's not going on the offensive, at least. Say your piece.]
no subject
Well, no point in getting bogged down by sentimentality right now.]
My apologies for startling you. I'm a traveler - and one who was unfortunate enough to end up lost out here. I've heard that this town may see combat soon. In exchange for shelter from the cold, I would be willing to assist you all in defending the town.
[Flora doesn't look like she'll tolerate bullshit well, so he's toning down his usual personality.]
no subject
...Of course. Once this is over, we'll set up a room for you so that you can spend the night here.
[Corrin should be arriving soon, at any rate, so if they get this battle over with quickly, it should be a quickly done deal. At any rate, Flora gestures for the others to come out; the soldiers will take their places, hiding in the snow until needed, but...]
You'll be staying with my group. I wouldn't want a traveler to get hurt on my watch. [There's practical reasons for that too, but they're not ones Flora has any intention of calling attention to.] Where were you trying to go? Once this is over, perhaps I can point you the proper way.
[It's still pretty stiff and guarded, but Flora's...making an attempt at being a decent person. The Ice Tribe has never been particularly warm to outsiders, but...well, Kilma isn't exactly around to scold her, and she needs all of the help she can get.]
no subject
Thank you, I appreciate it.
[That question, though... Damn, he doesn't know any names of any towns or have any idea of how far away he is from something like the capital. He can't exactly lie his way out of this one.]
I think we can wait on that for now, ja? I'll be sure to ask you all once I've repaid your kindness.
[It's a clumsy answer, but it's really the best he's got.]
no subject
I see. Very well, then.
[...And that's when the sound of commotion begins, and Flora's already at the ready and steeling herself for this. You can likely make out a small batch of forces over across the lake, there, and there's some familiar pink hair among them as they fight off the tribesmen.]
...Grant them no quarter; we can't afford to let a single one of them escape alive.
[...]
But...leave the girl with pink hair to me. I'll take care of her.
[She has to. She has to.]
no subject
Unsurprisingly, Felicia is among the opposing group. Also unsurprisingly, Flora wants to take care of her. Maybe she'll try to talk to Felicia first, or maybe Flora won't allow herself a moment to second-guess this. As far as she's aware, this is something she has to do, isn't it?
Well anyway, Yeager's going to stay close to Flora - at least initially. Slipping away to join the enemy forces should be easy enough in the battle, but he'd also prefer for Flora to avoid tossing a knife directly into his back. So for now he remains nearby, weapon in scythe form, close enough to Flora but not in a position where she ever has her back to him. He makes sure to avoid turning his back to her as well.
How's Felicia looking over there, from where he can get a glimpse of her?]
no subject
But the combined efforts are at least taking care of anyone in their way. And it's likely becoming all too clear that the Ice Tribe is deeply outmatched.
Flora watches as best she's able, impassive, until Corrin manages to step on the dragon vein--sending a surge of ice over to a statue in the middle of the lake, freezing it solid all at once as they start to charge in with the others close behind.
And that's when Flora gives the order.]
Everyone, attack! We cannot let them go a step further!
[While everyone else leaves, Flora...stays, suddenly deeply uneasy. Well, that and she's the boss of the chapter, she's gotta guard the gate. But how are you doing, Yeager? Are you going to stay over here, or go toward the others?
(If it helps, Felicia's too occupied to...notice Yeager among the generic enemies...listen. Girl ain't smart.)]
no subject
While he doesn't like the idea of turning his back on her, staying put here is going to make her even more suspicious. No, it's best to take a risk and rush forward with the others, to play the role he's picked for himself and make it seem as legitimate as possible.
Of course, that means he's going to try to slip over through the chaos toward Felicia as soon as he can. He can fend for himself well enough, but he's specifically aiming to avoid killing any of Corrin's troops. Best not to give them a reason to target him. How's Felicia holding up?]
no subject
(Really, the most you're going to be hearing is one man constantly yelling. "FOR THE GLORY OF HOSHIDO!" "YOU DESERVED WORSE!" "YOU DIE...NOW!" and other such nonsense, given that even in Shimmer dreams, Ryoma go vrrrrr.)
At any rate, though! Felicia has uh. Kind of taken a beating, and is currently fending off someone from trying to get a sneak attack in on her lady as she cuts a path through. Of course, Felicia's eyes are kind of everywhere on the battlefield, and she eventually turns to--
Wait. Felicia's eyes widen.]
Y--Yeager?!
[...This isn't helping the fact that she did not, in fact, get the guy who was just about to sneak attack down to 0 health, oh gods he's getting up--]
no subject
Anyway, here we are! Felicia recognizes him (which is good, he was really hoping she would) but he's got something else to focus on right now. He shifts his weapon to rifle form easily and fires at that poor guy, just to make sure he doesn't manage to land a hit.]
Felicia! There you are!
[He says cheerfully, while trying to murder a dude???]
no subject
Either way, though, Felicia seems...well, honestly shocked for a moment, but--]
Yeager! Yeager, you're alright! I was so worried--
[Alright, alright, let's focus here.]
I'm glad that you're alright! Though I certainly wish it was under better circumstances!
[The battlefield is certainly not ideal, after all.]
no subject
You know you don't need to worry too much about me, ja? Agreed though; this certainly is a bit of a difficult situation to be in.
[Surely she recognizes it and remembers what's going to happen. Is she going to have to watch Flora die again...? That's just unfair, Shimmer.]
no subject
Felicia's look briefly startles before shaking her head. No, she doesn't want to think about that. She's not going to, she can just stuff it down and hopefully things will go okay--]
You managed to get all the way over there first...can I ask what you saw?
[...Yeah, Felicia recognizes this well, and she needs to know just how prepared she's gonna have to be to watch this shit again.]
no subject
I found myself just outside the village here. From what I saw, many of the villagers were acting like they expected your army to come through here and kill them all. Flora is the one leading the villagers.
[She doesn't need him to tell her that, and he's not going to elaborate any further.]
I don't think they realize exactly why your group is here.
no subject
I was wondering why Flora didn't meet us at the entrance. She was supposed to...
[Felicia shakes her head. It's not important, she doesn't want to think about it.]
...This is going almost exactly like I remember. She must be waiting for us to get up there.
[Great. Fucking spectacular.]
no subject
[Sure, he doubts the Shimmer will be nice enough to let them walk away from this without consequences, but considering how badly Flora's death upset Felicia...]
no subject
...I don't want to watch her die again. What...what can we do?
[It's not a no, though, and the reminder sees Felicia's look go utterly downcast and her expression sadden deeply.]
no subject
[That sounds too easy, but it's at least a place to start. Maybe there's something different that Felicia can do this time.]
