Visions.
LANDSCAPES.
The further in you go, the thicker the calcification becomes.
The crystals on the walls are difficult to make out now, having been encased entirely by thick white growths encompassing the walls like spider veins, like roots; their energy, however, can still be felt if you wander too close to the walls, or if you spend too long recovering yourself after something sufficiently stressful has come into your line of view. This may be more for a problem for some of you than it is for others; some of you are holding up surprisingly well, all things considered.
It isn't a failing on your part, when it hits you.
It's hard to say precisely what "it" is - a sudden fatigue, a seizure, an abrupt swirling of the world beneath your feet; all you know is that you're here, and then you aren't anywhere, and it takes a moment to place what brought the feeling on, or even what the feeling itself is. It will come to you eventually, however, once your eyes refocus and the cavern comes into view again for you properly - it feels like that first week you were here. Like reawakening after a long stint asleep; like being disoriented after realizing that you're not where you should be.
The difference this time is that you are, for all intents and purposes, still where you should be.
You don't seem to have gone anywhere; it doesn't feel like you've lost that much time, even, if you've lost any at all. But the fact of the matter is that something feels different, and it feels wrong, and placing how proves to be difficult.
There's a bend in the path, and suddenly it becomes all too clear.
You aren't supposed to be here, are you?
This place can be anything and everything - the hallway in the upper floor of your house, the bar you frequent, that place where all your comrades are buried. What matters is that it's somewhere you weren't sure you would see again, but the fact of it is that you're seeing it here, and you're seeing it now, and perhaps some of the others with you are seeing it too. Perhaps there are others here, those that have been on your mind for the past few days; perhaps you're all alone outside of whomever is questionably fortunate enough to be experiencing this with you.
Whatever you're seeing, however, something remains present in your mind, driving you onward and encouraging you to move through this, and quickly.
You don't belong here.
You need to leave.
[OOC: Welcome to the first half of our week 5 event! For this portion of the event, the hallucinations you've experienced up until now have become far more thoroughly immersive, and can be seen or experienced by others in something akin to a shared dream-state. These visions are likely to delict something from your world that you would find familiar and would have some sort of attachment to, whether that attachment is positive or negative. Monsters or other people from your world can be present here and interacted with, to deal with as you see fit; fighting them or speaking to them are both fair game. Conversely, your personal experience may be exploring or revisiting an area of your world that may or may not be how you remember it...
Please note that the mods will not be NPCing any characters in your visions or answering questions specific to the environments that you create. However, you are free to create as you see fit; time and space have very little meaning here, and your only limitations to your character's personal illusion/dreamscapes are your own creativity. Feel free to post any prompts you may want to play with, and to tag out to others to experience whatever they want to show you. (However, it is worth noting that any physical items you find in the visions will not remain in their possession afterwards.) As always, if you have any more questions about how works, let us know!]

[Just as he says that though, the familiar stomping of Nyarlathotep returns...but this time it's coming from down one of the halls of bookshelves, not the corridor that Heinwald and Yeager just came from.]
Oh. Oh dear. Is this what it meant...?
[The stomping grows louder and louder, and Heinwald doesn't intend to stick around to greet whatever's causing the noise.]
Yeager, move! Quickly!
[He takes off sprinting back down the corridor to get past whatever is about to emerge from the hall. As they pass, Yeager will be able to make out a...second Nyarlathotep?]
YooooOOOOoouuuUUUUu...
[The dragon groans in an erratic tone, now beginning to lumber out from the hall with the intent to give chase.]
Banished no more, We will finish what was started.
You shall not escape sacrifice this time!
no subject
No need to tell me twice!
[Off we go, then! He does glance back over his shoulder to catch sight of weird white Nyarlathotep, which is... interesting. Its words are definitely more concerning, though.]
Please tell me no one tried to sacrifice you to this thing!
1/2
Myself and the entire group I was with, unfortunately, though it was attempting to sacrifice us to its master! It was an absolute mess!
["A shitshow" would be a better word, but Heinwald is too quaint for that.
The second horrordragon unleashes a terrible cry as it picks up speed, slithering along on the ground in a bizarrely horrifying manner. Heinwald scrambles down another corridor-the one Yeager had previously come out of.]
The only way I was able to defeat it before was by banishing it with the Liber Grimortis. It is highly unlikely we'll have the luxury of tracking it down with Nyarlathotep on our trail, especially if I cannot stall it with magic.

Unless...?

...Abyssal Connection.
[The staff in his hand, no longer his basic staff from the excursion and now his ominous personal one begins to glow along with his eyes. His voice seems to take on an otherworldly tone as he turns to point the staff at the charging Nyarlathotep.]
Call of Chaos!
[The air grows thick with pressure, akin to the sensation that the Shimmer has been oh so fond of ushering in, and a glowing purple sigil appears just in front of Nyarlathotep. As it lumbers over it, a wave of tendril-like shadows burst forth and ensnare it.]
OoooOOOoooOOhhHhhhh!
[The dragon snarls in pain as it struggles against the tendrils. They've got some time to gain a lead on it or lose it altogether now.]
Onward!

And then Heinwald's staff transforms and Yeager watches as he summons a trap for that beast. He barely has a moment of oh no, he's hot before Heinwald's urging him to move.]
Ja, of course! It really is a shame you haven't been able to use magic here, that would have been very useful!
[Which way are we heading?]
no subject
I'm glad that you understand my frustration now!
[They soon come upon another large chamber like the one that Yeager found Heinwald and Nyarlathotep in earlier. This time, however, Heinwald spots something that might aid their search: a balcony rising above the chamber.]
With luck, we can spot the exit from up there. It would eliminate the need to check every path.
[He rushes for the warped staircase, checking behind to make sure their enemy hasn't recovered yet.]
no subject
[Up we go! This also gives him a better vantage point to snipe from if needed, but he doubts his rifle's going to be doing much against that thing if it comes down to a fight. Hopefully we can spot the exit from up here...]
no subject
The exit will be quite obvious. It is a massive pair of double doors.
[But considering this is the Library Obscura, it likely won't be easy to spot considering how the view beneath them seems to shift and distort right before their eyes. It isn't a permanent shift, however, but an illusion to obscure their true path.
Heinwald's scouting takes him around a bend in the balcony, though he makes sure Yeager is right behind him.]
Perhaps your scope will be of great service for this?
no subject
Ja, let me take a look, hopefully that will help!
[Alright, let's see what we've got here! Are the distortions as frequent and confusing when he's looking through this?]
no subject
...ah! Were those the doors Heinwald spoke of just now? They were only visible for a moment, but they were definitely there on the opposite end of the chamber.]
I don't mean to rush you, Yeager, however--
[Just as Heinwald speaks up, he's cut off by familiar cry.]
Become SACRIFICE!
[...He decides to finish the sentence anyway, as a power move.]
We have company.
